Muir Woods

Today I finally fulfilled a life-long dream of hiking the Muir Woods north of San Francisco. I finished my week of meetings in San Bruno where my company has its headquarters. After a rough week of negotiating company re-structuring, salary reductions and other very unpleasant corporate topics, I rose early and reached Muir Woods by 8 am. As it turns out admission is free if you arrive before 9 am. So not only did I get a great parking spot I had the woods all to myself for almost 30 minutes! The hike and photo excursion restored my sanity and sense of perspective. The large groups dispatched from tour buses started making their appearance around 9:15, but I had had the woods to myself for just enough time to get some great shots.
