Today I am launching my new website BuyMyCards.com.

BuyMyCards.com sells handmade photographic card sets. Each card in a set is 5 1/4 inches by 7 1/4 inches and contains a glossy 4 x 6 photographic print mounted on 70-lb. card stock. Each card comes with a matching envelope and is sealed in a plastic envelope.

I will be selling photographs from my travels on this new website. Thanks for stopping buy and having a look.

Thanks to my nephew, Jon Robinson (http://www.jonrobinsondesign.com) for the website design and logo.

Back at Work Today

Thanks to Richard Hoffman who just emailed me these two photos he took of a butterfly landing on my head while I was photographing at the Key West Butterfly Conservatory a few days ago. It sure made being back at work a lot easier remembering that wonderful day.

Leaving Florida

I stopped off in Indian River County to pick up some fresh grapefruit and oranges. I think my friends back in cold NYC will really appreciate the citrus gifts from Florida.

I'm spending the night in Savannah, Georgia where it is 34 degrees. This sure is some cold front across the US.

Another day, another cruise ship docks in Key West

This is the view from my hotel balcony on our last day in Key West. It's hard to imagine 21 degree weather back in New York. Well, it was good while it lasted.

Our hotel (the Westin) has been an amazing place to stay. Highly recommended.

We've eaten some terrific Cuban food in Key West.

It's a fish-eye lens kind of day with the beautiful blue sky and great scenes everywhere.

This is the Museum of Art and History at the Custom House in Key West. The Custom House was built in 1891 and served as a post office, court house and government center.

Fresh pineapple juice is delicious in Key West.

The famous Sloppy Joe's on Duval Street. Although Hemingway actually drank at the location on Greene Street around the corner this establishment is the hub of Duval Street frivolity.

The absolute best key lime pie in Key West. Believe me we tested extensively and the Key Lime 'n' More shop on Greene Street is the one to have. I can't vouch for the Key Lime pie on a stick as we didn't try it, but others who did claim it is amazing. You can only take so much of a good thing, even in Key West.

My brother Bob and Sue with our new friend Robert from the Glass Bottom Boat tour. Bob and Sue were resting after sharing a slice of Key Lime pie and cafe con leche.

Robert hawking his wares.

It's all about the juice.

Ok, I'm done with the 16mm fish-eye lens for today. It was fun getting a new perspective on Key West.

Key West Circumnavigation

I rode my new folding Citizen bicycle around the entire circumference of Key West. I took a shot of a plane landing at the Key West Airport.

I'm always looking for Methodist churches in remote locations since my father is a Methodist minister and my mother plays the organ at the Methodist church in Middleport, Ohio. The Newman Methodist church in Key West is said to be a haven during hurricanes.

The Key West Lighthouse was built after the hurricane of 1846 destroyed the original 1825 lighthouse. It is the 15th oldest surviving lighthouse in the country. You can climb the 88-step circular iron stairway that leads to the lighthouse deck from which much of Key West is visible.

The skies darken as an afternoon storm approaches. Luckily I had finished my bike tour and watched the storm from my hotel room.

Even during the rainstorm I couldn't put my camera down.

The storm passed, the clouds lifted and boats went back out to the Gulf. The temperature dropped 10 degrees but even at 62 we were content. The locals started wearing scarfs around their necks to our great amusement.

Around 5 pm each evening everyone heads to Mallory Square for the sunset celebration. Steel drum bands play, magicians set up their shows, a man with a cat act enthralls the celebrants with his antics. You get the idea. It's a great way to end the day. A huge cheer goes up from the crowd just as the sun disappears beneath the horizon. The steel drums swell and the evening party gets started in earnest.

It's a photographer's paradise each evening.

Sunset with palm tree. It doesn't get any better than this.

Unless a sailboat sails right into my sunset shot like this.

New Year's Day 2010

I spent the afternoon photographing butterflies at the Key West Butterfly Conservatory on Duval Street. It's worth coming to Key West for the butterflies alone.

How nice is it to be able to ride your bike over to the beach on New Year's Day!

This snowy egret sat with me during my Cuban breakfast of Cafe con leche and a Cuban egg and cheese sandwich. This could really start to be a habit, starting the day in the sunshine and warm breeze.

After breakfast, a kayak in the warm, turquoise waters of the Atlantic.

A perfect beach for kayak launches on New Year's Day.
