Christmas In the Everglades

A great day among the birds and alligators in the Everglades.

Thank goodness for telephoto lenses.

Gator pretending to be a log.

Forget about worrying about the gators, it's the vultures you have to worry about in the Everglades. This sign was posted at the entrance to the Anhinga Trail. There were really huge vultures in the parking lot.

I captured this Anhinga along the Anhinga Trail. The word "anhinga" comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and means devil bird or snake bird.

The weather forecast predicted thunderstorms all day but I lucked out with great weather all day and wonderful clouds around sunset.
